Another attractive tourist
destination in Taiping. 1,250 meter above sea-level. The British
high-ranking officials used Maxwell Hill as a rest & recreation
centre since 1884. It was renamed Bukit Larut in 1979. Before 1948,
there was no tarred road and access was mainly bysedan chairs.

The Land Rover twists and turns for approx. 13 km
before it reaches the top in about 30 minutes. Whew! What a ride! The time taken
if you walk depends on many factors. If you walk along the tarred road you are
quite sure to get to the top but if you prefer the hiking trail
